Child Visa  (subclass 101)

With a Child visa (subclass 101), a parent who meets the requirements can sponsor their child to live in Australia for as long as they want. A parent can fill out an application for a child who is younger than 18 years old.

For this visa, the Child must:

Be the child of a parent who is an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen who meets certain requirements, or who has a permanent visa for Australia.
Be younger than 18, a full-time student between the ages of 18 and 25 who depends on their parents for money, or older than 18 but unable to work because of a disability.
Be alone and rely on your parents.
Be outside of Australia at the time of the application.
Be sponsored by a parent who is eligible or by the spouse or de facto partner of a parent who is eligible.
Have no partner or ever have been.
Getting married or already married.
When two people live together.
Either: Be younger than 18.
Or over 18 but younger than 25 and in school full-time.
Or if you are over 18 and have a disability.
Meet the health need.
Pass the test of your morals.
If the application is approved, the person can move to Australia and stay there as a permanent resident on a visa.
Study and get a job. Sign up for Medicare, which is Australia’s public health insurance program.

If you are eligible, 

Apply for Australian citizenship.
You can pay for family members to come to Australia.
For 5 years, you can go to and from Australia.
After 5 years, the child can apply for a Resident Return Visa to come back to Australia as a permanent resident, and if approved, they will be able to do so.

Child Visa  (subclass 102) 

With the Adoption visa (subclass 102), children who have been adopted or will be adopted by an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen can live in Australia.

For this visa, the Child must:

If the application is approved, the person can: 

• Move to Australia and stay there as a permanent resident on a visa.
• Work and study.
• Sign up for Medicare, which is the public health care system in Australia.
• If you are eligible, apply to become an Australian citizen.
• Help family members come to Australia.
• Spend 5 years going to and from Australia.
• After 5 years, the child can get a Resident Return Visa to come back to Australia as a permanent resident by applying for it and getting it.

From AUD2,790 a child can get an SC 802 visa.

With the Child Visa (Subclass 802), a child who is already in Australia and whose parents are Australian citizens, Permanent Residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens can stay there with their parents for as long as they want.

For this visa to be available, the Child must.

• Have a parent who is an Australian citizen, a New Zealand citizen who meets certain requirements, or a holder of an Australian permanent visa.

• Be under 18 years old, over 18 but under 25, and a full-time student who depends on their parents for money, or over 18 but unable to work because of a disability.

• Live on your own and depend on your parents.

• You must be outside of Australia when you fill out the form.

• Have an eligible parent or the spouse or de facto partner of a parent who is eligible to sponsor them.

• Have no partner or ever have been.

• Be either: under 18 years old, o over 18 and under 25 years old and studying full time, o over 18 years old with a disability, o married or engaged to be married.

• Make sure you’re healthy enough.

• Show you have good morals.

Note:

 The Department of Home Affairs will only give this visa to a child younger than 18 if: the child has the written permission of everyone who can legally decide where the child can live; the laws of the child’s home country allow them to leave their home country, or it is in line with any Australian child order about the child.
